Beverly Cooperative Bank Announces New President

BEVERLY, MA, JANUARY 3, 2012 - Beverly Cooperative Bank is pleased to announce that Senior Vice President Michael Wheeler has been promoted to President of Beverly Cooperative Bank. He is the bank’s 12th president effective January 1, 2012. Bill Howard, current President and CEO, has assumed the role of CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Wheeler joined Beverly Cooperative Bank in 2000 as Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending. Promoted to Vice President and then to Senior Vice President in 2007, Mr. Wheeler oversees all of lending and also serves as the bank’s chief compliance officer and clerk.

“Mike is collaborative in nature,” explained Bill Howard. “He’s been an integral part of the bank’s growth and community commitment. He is the right person to guide Beverly Cooperative Bank and build upon the bank’s successes.”

Mr. Wheeler earned a Bachelor of Science at University of Southern Maine and a Master of Business Administration from Endicott College, Beverly, MA. Well known in the communities Beverly Cooperative Bank serves, he is currently on the Board of Directors of the North Shore United Way and Salem Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Wheeler recently completed service as board member and treasurer of the Salem Boys and Girls Club and Salem Rotary Club.

In addition to the main office at 254 Cabot Street, Beverly Cooperative Bank also has offices at North Beverly Plaza and 48 Enon Street in Beverly, as well as 73 Lafayette Street in Salem. The bank is a member of FDIC and member of SIF, and the SUM ATM network, as well as an Equal Housing lender.
